After some time ago, scientists at the Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institute of Technology Madras announced the development of a laptop at 10 U.S. dollars. According to the Secretary General of Indian Higher Education , RP Agrawal says prototype laptop is worth $ 20, but this price will come down to $ 10 after mass produced.
Laptop project was first started in TOI three years ago, aims to bridge the gulf between that are on the poverty line. The project is the $ 100 laptop project that was started by Nicholas Negroponte from MIT who tried to enter the Indian market (OLPC). $ 10 laptop has completed the design phase of the business owing to a Student Vellore Institute of Technology.

This mission will focus on the procedure of education e-learning, provides the facilities of the experiment through labolatorium virtual, online testing and sertfikasi, availability online for teachers and mentors, and utilization of EduSat and DTH.

Specification of this laptop PC as well as the other. Have a 2GB memory, Wifi and hardware that can be added, operate with low power that is 2 Watt. However, there are no reports laptop using this system is operating. However, it is likely, this laptop uses a simple GUI-based Linux. such as that used by the Eee PC.
